Trigger emails are automatic response emails that can be staged to send at any set time after a subscriber opens a campaign or acts on a CTA, (call to action). They can be an effective way to convert buyers and increase profits. The following are examples and benefits of different types of trigger emails:
- Confirmation. For example, when a new subscriber opts in, a trigger can be sent to thank them for joining your list. You can also add another CTA to the thank you in the form of an offer.
- Event planning. You can set timed, automated reminders to invited guests in the days leading up to an event. These reminders serve to maximize your attendee numbers as well as give another opportunity to convert a prospect with an additional offer.
- Birthdays, Anniversaries, Holidays. Within the GreenMail dashboard, you can pre-set all your personal messages to go out to your subscriber list in advance so you never have to worry about missing an opportunity to make someone’s day.
- Moving prospects down the sales funnel. As sales people, we keep a list of firm, probable, and soft prospects. Obviously we want to move our soft prospects to firm in hopes of converting them into customers, SO prompting a soft prospect to react to a CTA and following it up with a triggered offer can allow you to gauge if they are ready to move into the next prospect category.
This gets fun when you can see, though analytics, which types of triggers are the most effective for your type of business. Don’t be afraid to try multiple angles as long as you are giving relevant information, keeping their attention, and gaining their trust.
Good Luck Out There!
